A brief history of catering and cheffing
Orewa/Rodney college schooling

10 years experience in Auckland in a variety of chef positions including the birth of café culture, 1986 DKD café, pasta chef at Milanos in Parnell, and attaining Michael guys Perrier award for excellence 92’-93’ – Top 12 restaurants nationwide – winner Northland -Café Monet, Whangarei – Head chef

10 years experience overseas including the first of the Gastro pubs – “Prince Bonaparte” in Notting Hill, mid 90’s London – working for TV chef Franco Taruschio at “The Phoenix” Putney Bridge in early 2000’s and 2 years as banqueting chef at The Royal Opera House in Covent garden where we catered the GQ man of the year awards, Royal Gala dinners for Prince Charles, charity dinners for Sting and Lady Chichester, along with a number of celebrities, politicians and the like.

Over the 7 years I have been back in NZ I have catered many events large and small for a wide range of great clients around the Rodney region, including the PM on a couple of occasions. I have worked with NZ food writer Lauraine Jacobs to launch a book and also a collaborated on menus for the PM. I have conducted cooking classes and workshops as well as appearing at food and wine festivals. I support, Omaha surf Life saving club & Springboard. Recently we were booked to cater the X-factor judges retreat with Mel Blatt and the groups, a great experience!

You can find me working at my stall at the Matakana Farmers Market, with my Mum, most Saturday mornings where we make free range bacon & egg rolls, bbq’d mussels and bacon and fresh cooked Belgian waffles.
